The release of the album Volker Kriegel "With a little help from my friends" shifts
March, 9th 2013 - The release of the album Volker Kriegel "With a little help from my friends" is shifting from 29th March 2013 to 26th April 2013. The reason is that the original LP is unfortunately lost. The replacement was supplied now by the kkArchiv of the University of Bremen. Thanks for that.
The lost first album by Volker Kriegel produced by Klaus Doldinger and Sigi Loch
March,
1st 2013 -
On 26th
April MiG Music will publish the for many decades lost music of the first album by Volker Kriegel. The album "With a little help from my friends" was produced by Klaus Doldinger (A side) and Sigi Loch (B side) for the label Liberty Records in 1968. Three years later the label was bankrupt and the album got lost, even not mentioned in most databases around the world. The total playing time of 32 minutes was for us today in 2013 as an incentive to look for quality bonus material. It was found in Volker Kriegels appearance at the 11th German Jazz Festival of 22nd March 1968 in Frankfurt and the presence of 16th July 1968 at the Hamburg Jazz House. Overall, the bonus material has a length of about
43 minutes and therefore the CD is chock full of rare and previously unheard material.
The album will be published with the original cover of 1968 in the charm of that era, with liner notes by Wolfgang Sandner. We managed to make interesting material accessible again. The studio song "Na Na Imboro" with a playing time of
8:35 min is also included in two other live versions, with a playing time of
04:23 min and 14:39 min.
Thus this is the second album release by Volker Kriegel (celebrating his 10th death anniversary in 2013) on our label "Art of Groove" with exciting content. About the upcomming events planned this summer, we will report in time.
